Concerts Top Chicago’s Summer Bucket List Hilton to help Chicagoans play this summer, host live concert at Palmer House Hilton

MCLEAN, Va. - Chicago knows how to rock the summer. In fact, 71 percent of Chicagoans included concerts on their Chicago summer bucket list, according to a study by Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT). To help Windy City music fans in their quest for fun, Hilton is hosting an exclusive concert, featuring a GRAMMY®-nominated artist at Palmer House Hilton on Friday, July 10, as part of its Hilton@PLAY concert series.

Leading up to the concert, from Monday, July 6 through Wednesday, July 8, Hilton will be randomly delighting dozens of Chicagoans and visitors who embrace the city's top playful locations with access to the concert for themselves and a friend. Playful Summer Bucket List Highlights

To fully understand Chicago's affinity for play, Hilton surveyed Chicagoland residents to uncover their favorite summertime activities. Highlighted findings included:

  • Beachin' It, Every Weekend: On average, Chicago residents plan on going to the beach about once a week this summer, and they plan on going to the parks about two times a week.
  • Fair Weather Friends: Northsiders are more likely to bail on outdoor plans due to inclement weather compared to Southsiders (47% vs. 34%).
  • Friends with Boats: While 50 percent of Chicagoans never plan on boating or sailing this summer, 33 percent of respondents added 'make friends with someone who owns a boat' to their summertime bucket list.
  • The Ultimate Bucket List: If Chicagoans were to create a "Chicago Summer Bucket List," the top five activities would include free summer concerts, fireworks at Navy Pier, watching a baseball game at Wrigley Field, experiencing the Taste of Chicago event and watching the sunset from ROOF on theWit Chicago - a DoubleTree by Hilton.

The upcoming Hilton@PLAY Chicago concert follows performances by GRAMMY®-winning Paramore at Conrad New York and pop superstar Nick Jonas at Hilton Anatole in Dallas.
